Step closer, dear dreamers, for today the Night Circus opens its gates upon a splendid collection of new adventures!

Awaiting you beneath the lantern light is a mysterious crossword puzzle, a newly revealed Master Game Character, three carefully buried clues, and an enchanted Crystal Ball offering glimpses into both the past and the future—especially helpful for those who have only just arrived and wish to organize their journey.

But heed the Ringmaster’s call! Today is the final day of our raffle ticket drawings. I have posted a list containing the first names of our generous sponsors so that everyone may check it carefully and ensure no one has been overlooked.

Then, when darkness falls tonight, one fortunate name will be drawn to receive a gorgeous piece of Gothic furniture!

The lanterns are glowing, the mysteries are waiting—and the Night Circus is calling your name!

For two full weeks, the Night Circus will present a brand-new contest each day. Simply click the link provided below, carefully read the day’s instructions that I post on DANA's Bulleting Board or the MDL daily list, and email your answer to DANA@DANAburton.com before midnight that same day.

A winner will be selected, announced the following morning, and added to this page.

A Special Note to My Dolliers

Some of you are true puzzle wizards, while others occasionally find my website itself to be the first puzzle! 😊 The important thing is to relax, explore, and enjoy the adventure.

Each puzzle will be rated on a difficulty scale from 1 to 10, with a delightful mixture of easy, medium, challenging, and—at last—one very special Super Sleuth Puzzle!

All the answers can be discovered within the poems, clues, and hidden details found throughout DANAburton.com and in the Night Circus Gazette. Read thoughtfully, look closely, and remember: every small detail may be part of the mystery.

Beneath a sky that hums in gold,
Where quiet wonders softly unfold,
A circus breathes without a sound—
Not lost… but never meant to be found.

Lantern light in velvet air,
Glows for those who wander there,
Not by chance and not by sight—
But drawn by something deep as night.

A figure waits in lace and flame,
She does not ask you for your name,
For in her book, already known—
Your hidden truths are softly sewn.

Threads that shimmer, pull, and weave,
Stories you forgot… or never believed,

The circus shows what you conceal.

Porcelain eyes that almost see,

How to Enter the PHOTO CONTEST

1. Read the Categories (pdf link - click) and select one that calls to you.

2. Make your doll using ONLY black/white/with one small touch of red.
You can also use gold or silver for accents.

3. Take a photo of your entry (ONE) and send it via email to Jane Layden (end of August her email address will be linked here) along with Category #.

4. DEADLINE for entries is August 31st. Real first place ribbons will be awarded in all 5 categories + a random drawing for one or two photos/prizes.

5. You may use ANY 1:12 scale doll, materials (see above), props etc.
